Sport Massage and tension relieve is a short course designed for applicants interested in deep tissue massage for qualified fitness and coaching science professionals who want to continue their professional development (CPD) (no NQF or credits awarded) or wishing to learn or improve on their technique.

Full Course Layout
THEORY ONLINE VIDEO TUTORIALS:
6 Weeks of theory lessons presented via online videos; each week will require approximately 2 hours of videos and manual review work. You can work at your own pace and in your own time.
PRACTICAL COURSE:
Will take place over 4 consecutive days in Pretoria, South Africa, totaling 20 hours of practice. Participants will be required to provide and receive massage to and from fellow participants as well as volunteers.
THEORY EXAM:
A written theory exam will take place on the last day of the practical sessions, a pass rate of 70% required to gain entrance to the practical exam.
TRAINING HOURS AND PRACTICAL EXAM:
After completing the practical section, you will be required to complete 50 training hours of massage on various people with at least 10 case studies. On completion, you will then submit your practical exam via video submission or book your exam live in Pretoria, South Africa.
*Important Information:
The Allied Health Professions Council is the only professional association for massage therapists in South Africa. Short courses in massage are currently not recognized for accreditation by the Allied Health Professions Council. On completion of the course, you will receive a certificate of attendance and completion of a short course in Sports and Deep Tissue Massage presented by Body Innovation which you may use to work in the field of massage.
